Any Vetenarians on Forum

Have a problem with my 11 year old female German Wire Haired Pointer, she developed a problem with her eyes, the local vet found an ulcer on the left eyeball, the treatment was Anti-biotics, Steroids and Eye Ointment.
Over a week and another visit the eye seemed to be getting better, she was walking around with her eyes open, another week and another visit to the vets and her eye was looking good.
After this last visit her right eye started to close, we continued with the medicine but it has got worse, both eyes are shut all the time now, her right eye is red around the outside of the lids and she is rubbing her eyes on our legs and the furniture, we got some antihistamine drops but still no improvement, we have spent well over $400 and as I'm on a pension I cant afford to take her back to the vets unless I can be assured she will get some help. It is almost impossible to get drops or ointment onto her eyeballs as she has the inner eyelids covering them.
Can anyone with experience or a Vet give us some advice as to what is wrong and a remedy or cure for this poor dog, I will take some pics if this will help, BTW there are no foriegn bodies in her eyes, that was the first thing that was checked, any help would be most appreciated, Thanks, Regards Frank.

I cant help with your dogs problem Tank, but after the recent death of my Kelpie I went in search of more info and found this site/forum quite helpful.
