Yes i have done that as well. I used the Turfor with a snatch strap wrapped around the bend and pulled it near to strait. My replacement (I am told) is an ex-military arm and is quite a deal larger in diameter than the stock unit and has served me well for about 6 years. I got it from Tim's here (landrover fellow), you may wish to consider one.
I'm not familiar with the reasons why but it could be designed to be the weakest link.
If you strengthen the arm you might break the next weakest link and that might leave you stranded.
It's alot easier to carry a spare link than to carry a whole diff assembly:D
it is the rear arm that bent??
i have upgraded my rear steering arm which is a common upgrade but have kept the front orginal and carry a spare
i upgraded mine and havent had an issue. Well thats a lie cause i bent the drag link in front of the diff, but that was a rocks fault. It will get replaced eventually
Sorry mate, was a **** take, from another thread, where quite a few hoped on the bandwagon about leaving things as they come from Solihull:D
Buy a reinforced one, its a must:)
yes that rolling feeling is rather intimidating isnt it! :D
YES SHORE IS!:o:confused:
