Ooooh I hope they call me!!!![]()
Got a phone call from a market research girlie this evening regarding my purchase of a new Land Rover. One question made me smile, did you choose the dealer you purchased the vehicle through because of their proximity to home or work?
With the state of the dealer network I have a 300+Km drive to go see a dealer other than the one in Canberra, either to Albury, Dubbo or Sydney.
Other questions were related to other vehicles I thought about buying and what I would have got if the Disco was not available and the usual "were you treated nicely by the dealer type stuff.
The researcher seemed quite shocked when I said one of the reasons I bought the Disco was off road ability.
The dealer got a bit of a pasting on questions like "were you impressed with the showroom".... err I would have been if it was a Jeep I was buying.
I guess it's nice to know that LR Australia are at least asking whether their customers are satisfied or not though, even if they won't improve the dealer network.

you are right about the dealer network .i was in rockhampton a couple of years ago & the landy dealer had dissapeared.i have found the local dealers in brissy excellent with warranty work will go out of there way to help, but the quality of the work by the mehanics in the workshop........well.....thats another storey.
The Lady who called me was definitely not from Oz. She was overseas and it is because the dealers are owned privately it must be like the big brother of L.R. who gets a report at the end of each month to say how each place is being rated by customers. I absolutely pasted the dealer I saw and got 2 more calls from L.R. and 2 letters from the dealer asking to contact me etc.
Xav
The Canberra dealer has the new cars stuck in a second hand lot, no signs, no brochures and no one intelligent on site. The dealer principal and the workshop are located at the Jeep/ Chrysler dealership where there is lots of Chrysler advertising, merchandise and accessories advertised.
