Yes I'm going greenhouse and no external energy input. ( other than a pump maybe which I can hopefully run off solar )

I do a lot of gardening and the only thing I have noticed is I often get more help off the marijuana orientated sites then I do from proper gardening sites. I also get a great laugh reading what some of them do and how paranoid they are.
I don't use hydro but I use a similar method for propagation and to get roots started on cuttings. It is quick and the most effective I have ever used and it never came from a mainstream site.
All the best with it. Hydro is easy but proper hydro is expensive to start up as all those chemicals and pumps and lights to buy. I prefer to go on the organic side usually and not have year round seasons.

Try this mob, I used to get a lot of stuff through them and they know what they are talkin about.

Best thing I can advise is get a rain water tank, it's better quality water, plants don't like clorine(sp?).
I was advised by a very good mate in a Govt Agency to only use LED lighting as it doesn't show up as well on thermal imaging equipment :lol2:
You can buy hydroponic equipment cheaply at the Public Trustee's Police seized goods auctions in Brisbane. Quite a lot of the stuff appears at these sales. I wonder how many times some of it has been through the auction rooms. A staff member told me that the police come and get the buyers names and addresses after the auction so they can pay the buyers a visit after a few months.
Go and have a look here. Take the time to go through all the thread and you will be blown away!
Amazing what this guy has done in Kal! A full hydroponic setup without the lights, but using fish to clean and fertilise the water.
Guys a bloody legend already. Amazing stuff.
Good Luck!
