    Who really likes their landrover?

Just gotta say this and get it off my chest, but I really like having a Land Rover in my families life.

To be able to get up and go anywhere here (in Australia) with this world famous marque and seriously capable vehicle under our bums. Bloody hell I love my Landie!

Now, in all honesty, who doesnt spend a few seconds/minutes a day just looking at it (glass of red here is optional) thinking about goin' exploring somewhere, who cares where, could even be the local 7eleven or just to get more fuel or High Country or Cape York or Simpson,....the potential, WOW!

ok, ..passion partially vented, now where's my woman.......!

Yep, love the D1 (Casper as was officially named recently after 4 years of ownership).

It is the first vehical I have ever had that instead of looking around at what I was going to buy next I look at what Im going to do to it next or where Im going to go in it next.

I can tell you now :

    Next

    - Timing belt
    - The new rear rotors
    - The new pads all round
    - Another service
    - Fit Isuzu Rovers filter thingy (when it arrives)

Parts are in the shed, just need to do it now.

    G'day Simon;

I share the same sentiments mate , I also love my landie , it has a lot of character and appeal , I look at other 4x4's ie jap vehicles and they Just don't find them appealing. not that I'm biased anyway.

Anyhow nice Camp site , where exactly is it ?

    Must agree.
Mines a 2001 TD5, its done 215,000km, starting to look untidy. Recently considered moving on but the only vehicle I'd consider is a newer series 2 Disco. It fits like a glove.

I've had my disco for 2 months now. I'm in love with the marque I've already gone as far as deciding that I want to own a LR (or 3 ) for the rest of my time on earth. It's the only vehicle I've owned that I actually want to go outside and work on!

    Kinda sad huh?

Love the old one so I thought that i'd buy a new one.

My brother once conjured a vision of archaeologists digging up an old Land Rover complete with its owner and his flyfishing rod ritually buried like a Viking in his or her ship. They were puzzled as to the meaning of it.

    Romantic really.

I have only had My D1 (Elmo) for a couple of weeks and already feels like it's a very loved part of the family . I have been caught a couple of times just looking at it and dreaming about the things i want to add and buy to make it the way i want it . Have never felt so one with a car as i have with this one .

Won't own any other 4x4 from now on .
