    County vs. GQ Patrol

Well me and some friends went up to double island point for the weekend. it was an awesome trip, the beach was lovely. only problem was the weather... it was a little bit cold and we had the occasional sprinkle.

all was going great and we were cruising up the beach at 8am on saturday when we stopped to take a picture of this.

but unfortunately my friend didnt slow down and decided to attack me at about 40km/h.

the county made quick work of the GQ panels, radiator, CV, engine

mine took some serious damage to the rear crossmember, outrigger, rear door, quarterpanel and broke the RH engine mount. after tieing the engine down i towed him 15min back to camp and we got into the beers to ease our pain. then today i towed him all the way back to tewantin.

apart from the obvious it was an awesome weekend county never missed a beat and towed brilliantly even in the soft stuff.

Glad you had a good weekend but bad luck about the vehicles. IT sounds like he is much worse off then you in the end. And it was just a simple mistake!

so long as the chassis isnt damaged inside of the spring hangers its repairable.

(draw an imaginary box with the 4 spring perches at the corners)

anthing outside of that is easily repairable and engineer safe.

inside of that gets costly depending on the damage.

(but thats just my roughnready version of the rules)

Oh well, you guys can rebuild the Patrol
There are plenty of wreckers around with those in it
Get a straight chassis and start again..
