Thanks for the good wishes.

Just back from the eye specialist. He's removed the pad over the eye and I can see! Not brilliantly, but I can see. The binocular vision is screwed and it's a bit hard to work out where things are - especially the steps when placing my feet on stairs

No driving for a week. Fortunately, I'm rostered off until next Tuesday
