    Freelander safest 4WD

Did anyone else notice that in the last series of ANCAP crash tests, the Freelander 2 came out on top of the 4WDs? Or at least top of those tested in that batch.
A quick check of the ANCAP database shows that only the Subaru Outback since 2004 is slightly safer.

The ANCAP database of small 4WDs:
CHOICE - ANCAP crash test database

It appears to be better than the Range Rover and the top large 4WD, the VW Toe-rag.

But apparently it's a bit rough on pedestrians.

According to the figure in the right hand column (score for pedestrian protection), a pedestrian who has just been hit by a Freelander would not agree with you.
The Freelander has by far the lowest score.

If I get a pedestrian in my defender, he wouldn't have the ability to argue.

    Ummmmmm, statistics......means nothing.

Comparing a Range Rover to a Freeloader 2 to a toerag and a Subaru.......notice anything wrong here?

But you could take him a long way into the bush to bury the evidence....
