    Just finished.

    La Cimbali Junior.

I picked it up looking like this-

Pulled it completely apart, stripped the paint off the base and collar, and repainted them.

Pulled the bearings and replaced them.

Cleaned all of the built-up coffee grinds out of everything.

    And ended up with this-

Guess I'll have to grind some coffee with it next.

Still waiting to get vanes for the doser and a new set of burrs.

    Cheers
    Simon

Sorry to resurect an old thread - This will probably get abaddonxi worked up about coffee

I've been trawling through coffesnobs/geeks etc trying to work out which grinder to buy and finally decided a Mazzer Mini or Macap M4 would be good to get. Online prices seem to vary a bit and so I'm hoping someone may be able to direct me at a good retailer.

Both sound like great grinders, only problem I've heard is underbench space with the tall hoppers.

I'm loving the La Cimbali, only been using it for six weeks or so, just couldn't bring myself to get it dirty for ages.

Dunno if it's any better than the previous grinder, I changed to Toby's Estate at around the same time which I think made the most difference. Real difference I found is the doser creates a lot less mess.

Well that's a lot of help.

    Cheers

Won't be stored under bench so not a problem.

You can't recommend any stores to contact for one?

Methinks I'll sell my Iberital Challenge grinder and my espresso machine. I've given up trying to make a decent coffee.

I thought Starbugs had closed down most of their stores, that's got to have improved the coffee that's available.

Used to be a really great little coffee shop in Darlinghurst, between a sushi bar and a Goth pub
