For minimal use and outlay, you probably cant go wrong.
For longer use, the blades will heat and transfer it to the grind.
The consistency is also not as good.
I have owned cafes, restaurants and still own a bar.
The big Mazzer is great.
Not one failure.(Touvh wood).
Should you be buying coffee online, buy minimal and try.
Should you hate it, just ditch it and no big loss.
Just never store the gear in the fridge or freezer.
Just cool ventilated area.
Best of luck and happy drinking.
I look at it from a home use perspective: 2 cups a day. To me that is minimal use. If I was looking at lots of grinds a day then I certainly would have gone with a Mazzer as they seem to be the best.
I believe Sunbeam did update this grinder and it certainly looks and feels solid, much more so than I expected. If I hadn't seen and played with one in a shop I think I would have bought either a Mazzer or Rocky on-line.
Sage words on the buying of coffee. I usually get the 250g bags first purchase for that reason so I'm a step ahead of you. As for storing in the freezer, my understanding is that's better than in the fridge, but still not as good as in cool dry place. Fortunately our house is constantly air-conditioned and so the temperature stays very constant. Good for coffee and wine.

BTW, their Chai tea is my current favourite. We've been through a lot of chai's in the last twelve months and settled on Toby's.
Thanks I'll probably order some in a few weeks once I get through my last batch a friend picked me up in Brisbane. I think Toby's Estate doesn't charge freight either

Not a great fan of Chai tea blends... now Green tea... that's a different story.
