I used to go out with a girl who did dressage.

No Land Rovers involved, so I guess it's a story for another day.

I do know where there's a public grass tennis court.

    Cheers

does you wife still compete? or does she just train now?

(oh you can tell me to get lost if you like i dont mean to be nosey your just the first peson that i have come across that i can talk to about dressage)
She hasn't competed for eighteen months, combination of No 1 horse tied up/dollars/EI/extremely ill, but depending on budget will be back out later in the year.

You've missed the CDI, but the State and Nationals will be on later in the year at SIEC.
Dressage New South Wales is probably the best site for comp schedules and this dressage board is good DressageIT forum - Powered by vBulletin they are a good bunch but it isn't near as active as here. The only downside is the predominantly Qld bias but I keep 'em honest

Where did you train in the UK ?
I know Anna Ross (now Ross-Davies) and it looks like she might make the UK team for Hong Kong (Beijing)

Grass isn't any good mate, the big fella would slip and slide everywhere

Needs to be a purpose built arena, he's a Prima Donna

mainly trainned at home firstly with the australian lady i worked for sue leng (now short) became great friends.....then we both started travelling to train with vicky thompson for a while...sue used to train with vicky but had also trainned with the lasseters and david hunt..

it was getting to expensive to travel and train, so we started to train with a lady called penny hillsdon at home, i dont know if you would of heard of her but she wrote the pathfinder to dressage....she trainned in germany

think we both trained with her for not sure just over a year amybe 2, but i met ian in this time and ended up moving towards london and gave up the training mainly becasue i had to give up my horse who was on long term loan to me until i left the job

cracking 16.3 holsteiner he was very talented horse....ex hunter grade B show jumper i never got him until he was 11/12y i had him for 5 years but only did the dressage for a probably 3 of those so never really got far in the way of competing

just wish i could have it all back.......apart from the 6 days a week i used to work along with grooming for the comps, although the grooming bit i enjoyed

being in sydney is just like being near london........crap the only horses i really get to see now are the skinny ones that come into the rspca, and even those are few and far between
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

We used to live out near Wallacia, lots of room there, and a very good friend and GP rider lives/d at Mulgoa (she was at Ulla Salzgeber's for twelve months, and is now based near London somewhere for the last six, but we are expecting her home soon.
I'm really good at dropping names too. Have you heard that Ulla (World Cup Champion and Olympic Gold and Silver medallist) once cooked me eggs. (true story )

I'm not familiar with Penny Hillsdon, but she's probably never heard of me either

Dressage Boulevard is Arcadia/Dural/Galston, but it's pretty damn well represented up Terry Hills way too.

The most competitive Sydney comps are at Clarendon and run by Dressage NSW (just outside Hawkesbury Race Club, opposite the RAAF base)
Vickie would go down for those fairly frequently (every four to six weeks), camp at Ann's place at Mulgoa and go off and do clinics too, then back home. Add in State and National squad clinics in Sydney (National ones with Ulla ) and she was racking up over 60,000km/annum in the Patrol at one stage .

    crikey

i wish i could say i had someone that had one a gold or silver or even just a championship "had made me eggs" you lucky bloke

still just sitting round and watch them in the warm up arena would be enough to satisfy me...no eggs required.

i'll certainly look forward to some of the up and coming events happy to travel to see some now i know they are on....i can plan for them..
