    Justin,

    Please do NOT use Caltex!
It is the best oil for "gumming" motors I've ever seen.
I lost a Zephyr Zodiac engine to Castrol.

I had a Peugeot 504 dump oil on the ground through long use of Castrol and a pressure relief valve seizing.
Recently, my brother lost the 5 litre V8 in his 1994 Statesman, at 120,000km. Holden in Adelaide, always put Castrol in it. 12 years later we put a full detergent oil in it, and the car went for 30 km, then lost oil pressure and died. He now has a second hand low km V8 in it with GOOD oil. When we took the valley cover off the old motor, the sludge was similar to my old Zodiac.

    Castrol is the pits!

Stay tuned Joel, I'm changing formulations soon, and it won't be from one of the majors.

I've never had any trouble with Castrol (owned by BP for those who don't know). Used it for many years in all my cars. Except the gearbox in my Rodeo. I used mainly PM in that as the alternative was Castrol Syntrans which is far too expensive and only selling it in 1L bottles is stupid.
Will go to the shops today and see what is available. It is a pain getting it in 5 litre containers when you need 6.6L.

I can tell you from a chat to his mechanic..

The drums of 'Castrol' that used by a well signwritten and sponsored door slammer are filled with Penrite
