It's just a county 120 or 130 which he claims to be a defender.

The ute has what looks like an izusu motor with lift up door handles and roll down windows ?????????? claims to be a defender 92 model. Its a configuration i've never seen before.

Thanks for that, suspected as much but didnt think countys came in that configuration. Never seen the lift up handles with wind down glass before.
Looks like an R380/LT230 set of levers and covers in the pic.
Interesting.

Yep, my '84 County had wind up windows and lift up handles, see below:
However, that one has black eyebrows over the wheels (weren't pre- Defender models painted or was that only on the County?). I notice the heater is different to the County - although the County had an air con/heater assembly. Also note the door doesn't have provision for the galvanised strip (missing odd mine) - did the the Defenders have them, the earlier cars did? It could be a Defender that's had an Isuzu fitted.

It can't be a "92 Model" unless the doors are off an earlier car and the motor is a transplant.
The Isuzu motor was discontinued in 1990 and replaced by the 200tdi, this was one of the major differences between an Australian late model diesel 110 and an early Defender.
Lift up type door handles disappeared after October 1986 and were replaced by the push-button type. Although there will be a few late 86 / early 87 cars here in Australia that were caught in the transition.
For information, the facelifted 110's and 90's with wind up windows were introduced in June 1984 in the UK, probably a tad later here in Aus.

If anyone is interested in it, it is in a yard on corner of beaudesert and boundary roads at Coopers Plains on the airfield side. Has been there for at least a month that I know of. Think it had $6600 on it.

I was tempted but it looks like it has rust issues in the bulkhead near the hinges. Not real keen on the trayback either. Price is nice but i am in no rush. I would infinitely prefer a style side or wagon
