Hi Disco Owner,
Just wondering how Jasmine is going?
Hi Panda;
She is recovering surprisingly well, Hole in her head has almost closed up:),most of dead skin has pealed off on her face / head , at nights she whimpers when sleep :( i guess she's still in quite a bit of pain while that leg muscle is healing , but all in all we're both really pleased with her recovery , she will be going back to Vet again tomorrow for post op check-up, stitching should be coming off very soon we hope.
Just as aside,
I said to "yana" my other dog , lets go for a "walk" and jasmine Jumped out of her seat and started getting really excited , forgot all about the pain she is in,, thinking she was "also" being taken for a walk , she limped all the way to the front door , but was quite sad looking when she reallised that she was getting left behind..
Glad to hear she is doing good. I was just thinking about her today at work.
Great to hear she's on the up & up. Bless her little cotton socks. Poor thing wimpering at night though. Is she still on pain meds? Let me know how she gets on after the vet, though we'll be away this weekend, so won't get a chance to look at the forum until Sunday night, or Monday, depending what time we get back.
That's so cute her jumping up to go for a walk when you asked Yana to go. Poor girl, she must have been sorely disappointed! Is she looking happier overall?
Keep me posted.
All the best,
Panda
Hi Disco Owner,
How's Jasmine going now?
Hi Panda;
Thanks for asking;
she'd been constantly howling / whimpering after her leg operation , we suspected something else was wrong , took her back to the VET , she had a dislocated Hip :( when the A/H Vet took Xrays , they only xray'd part of her Leg and not hip , but next day our own Vet didn't take any further Xrays and placed her under anesthetics and sticted up her leg , 2 weeks later , she was back at the VET with a 2nd operation:( she is now on the Mend and slowly recovering and still limping on 3 legs.
Vet reckons will take 2-3 months for her to be walking normal again, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Bugger....i hope she's on the mend. Dislocated hip...:eek: yeeow
My dog got into a dust up with another mastif the other day two 55kg dog going at it i quite a sight. Im pretty proud of him though. My Fiance was home on her own so he was doing his job and protecting her and the house from the bad guys.:)
He wound up with a hole in his shoulder and a cut lip. The other dog was in much the same state and also had a badly torn left jowl. Luckliy i go home in time to break it up and the other owner turned up just as i got them apart. Must have been a sight for him, I had his dog by the collar front legs off the ground my dog was still going for it try to bite and claw the other dog.
I wound up restraining his dog and wound up restraining mine....try to swap back was fun....:eek:
I was a bit peaved because the other dog came into our yard and started the blue but at the end of the day no real damaged was done to either dog and it was a fair fight so i decided to let it ride.:)
Hi Lucus;
How did the other Mastif get into your back yard ? I have fenced off every corner of my backyard , Gates , Chicken wires etc and no other dog can get or for mine can't getout unless they dig up under the Back fence which is hightly unlikely for a the 2 of them.
I know what you're saying about the other dog getting into the backyard and starting a Blue , I'd be peeved off too..:mad:
we had a Drunken Teenager kid , almost paraletic in our back yard one night trying to jump the Fence , the dogs were going balistic , both barking , running up/down the decking , this went on for a while , luckily they didn't attack the teenager , they are not aggressive dogs.. but the silly teenager lost his Mobile phone and thought he lost it when trying to Jump the fence, next morning he took the liberty of letting himself into our backyard again from side Gate and started looking for his mobile phone , I could have had him for trespassing but didn't . he was very appologetic so I let him off. luckily he didn't leave the side gate open night before for dogs to escape:o
I would have been really peed off then if they got run over on pennant hills road with all the semi's and double-B's running thru all hours of night:(
My fiance had just got home and spotted the other mastif as she was getting our's out of the car. She walked cooper (our dog) from the car and into the yard. Our front gates weren't locked as she knew i was 2 mins behind her. The gates open in when they arent locked so the other dog barged the gate and go it open enough to get through. Thankfully Ang was inside and stayed there.
The other mastif lives 5 doors up and obviously see's the whole street as his territory.
That's awful! Poor thing! :(Just as well you followed it up. Fancy not X-raying her hip in the first place. It's not like they are kids & can tell you where it hurts! I would have thought they would have been a bit more thorough, especially as her leg was obviously already hit/damaged. :mad:How is she managing walking with 3 legs?
