AULROvian spotting at All British Day '08 (and other pretty Landies)

I went along (dragged the other half too...) to the Sydney All British Day today and got the chance to put some faces to the names, and chat to a few Landy enthusiasts not from internetland!

It was very nice to meet "Larry" (whose real name is apparently not Larry!) and Diana (aka: "Lotz-A-Landies") and have a good chat face to face and have a proper look at their machines! I didn't get a chance to say G'Day to Master Cheif although I assume that at least one of those Workshops were his! A few other AULRO stickers were "spotted" too!

I must say highlight of the day was speaking with Chris Klein from LROC(S) and crawling all over (and under!) his absolutely immaculate Series IIA. I found it very valuable to be able to go over a physical car and actually see first hand how things can turn out! Pictures are great but to see things in the flesh and be able to touch and smell and taste (NB: close mouth whilst under cars) the oil and the paint and the canvas.

So here we are - You've been spotted by Shonky Cam!

    And so you should!

I'm sorry too - I did look for you in my defence! I am sure we will bump into each other at some stage. I pass through Lithgow regularly so if you see some young hooligan waving maniacly from a blue Fairmont or a Patrol Trayback - that would be me!

I am assuming it was "Madeline" that was proudly on display?

I looked at all the Rangies too!

I didn't spot an AULRO sticker, but that could be due to blindness or the fact that my Landrovering was cut short by a whingeing girlfriend who wanted to have lunch and insisted I go with her. I guess she was a little concerned by some of the roughians near the Bentley stand...?

That's because he was in disguise in his Morrie.

It was good to meet you & your better half Andrew.

    Good luck with the project.

Hahaha! I looked at the Morries too!

It was very nice to meet you also Mark, although I confused a few people when I kept referring to you as "Larry"...

    ...so, Larry is the car?

    Hmmm

If we asked his mum about her son Larry - do you think she'd know him????

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Ah Hah! Scouse was the Morrie - Didn't you think that the NSW copy of it's original Vic rego number was great? I sure was impressed.
