Nup...worked in a scrap metal yard in Sydney on the late 80s. The only processing was the feeding of the wrecks into the machine that turned them into cubes. The labour required to strip them down would be too great a cost.

In Germany they separate the components for recycling as much as possible - even have to use suction to remove oils diffs etc.
