Tell i'm he's dreamin!
Looks like the price of trailers is about to go way up too!
A mate runs a wrecking yard.Last week a trailer manufacturer contacted him wanting Falcon and Commodore wheels. He said he would take up to 200 of each, must be undamaged, and without tyres. He said he was prepared to pay $1 each.
The wrecker is currently getting around $150 per tonne for ferrous scrap!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
how much does a falcodore rim weigh? If it is less than 6.7kg he is better off selling to the trailer guy.
The trailer maker wants the wheels only, with tyres removed by the seller. The cars get crushed and sent to the blast furnaces of the orient with tyres on, trim in, whatever is left on the carcass after the wreckers deem them to be of no further parts value.

Makes you wonder what nasties come out of said blast furnaces when the cubed cars are fed in. particularly if the wreck is a Prius ))
Makes the average series Landrover look pretty green in comparison.

I reckon he might have been invited to investigate sex and travel.
You would get $3ea on Ebay with the tyres on

The cost of labour to check for perfect rims and remove the tyre is worth more than the $1 the trailer guy wants to pay - that's why they go for scrap.
But just try to get a rim from a wrecker for less than $20 ?
