    I was aware of Australian Bosch manufacturing without recourse to their website (for example knowing people in the industry that use the products and reading about them as they develop ABS and anti-skid controls for Australian cars etc) but this is from the Aust' Bosch web site:

    "The Automotive Electronics Division in Australia
    The Automotive Electronics Division in Australia manufactures a variety of microelectronic products to support an increasing array of functions and progressively smaller assemblies for the vehicle of today and the future.
    The Automotive Electronics product program encompasses microelectronic components, electronic control units and driver assistance systems. Supported by Australia's first large scale Silicon Chip manufacture plant at Clayton Victoria and a global network of 14,600 employees, the Automotive Electronics division develops sophisticated componentry to increase electronic functions of automotive vehicles.

    Our product range includes:

    * Diodes
    * Semiconductors
    * Electronic Control Units
    * Sensors"

    Cheers

    Like all overseas companies, Australia is only a support base for their product, helping develop their product further.

    Mate - ask any RACQ roadside patrolman whether the Australian Bosch equipped cars have electronic faults - they are very very reliable.

    As for just supporting overseas, no they actuall develop and manufacture products in Aust speficically for Australian cars, roads and conditions.

    Cheers
