Thread: Help to kill a varmint

Well the consensus seems to be one or more rats.

So, I have set up a dirty big rat trap right in front of the only open entry/exit hole, and will see if anything turns up in the morning, or if it has set the trap off and got away.

I've got shovels either side to guide it over the trap, so if it goes in or out I reckon I'll ping it.

Better tell the dogs what I've done.......

Ummmm - some people who live in Australia and are Australians weren't actually born in Australia.......

Burrows like you describe are everywhere here especially in the chook run, the vegie garden, and around concrete slabs. Over here it's the Black Rat, Rattus rattus, that's responsible. If you manage to trap one, you've done well. Rats are hard to trap. I don't know what's registered in SA but in Qld you can use a rat poison called Tomcat (around structures) and it's very effective but if secondary poisoning is a concern an alternative is Racumin.

Another solution is 20kg of Dynamic Lifter and some Diesel....

This will do the job!! You might be unable to use the water tank after.

Peanut butter and an Eze-set will get you a rat every time.
