You do know that Solihullitis is a chronic disease, there is no cure just relapses. I'm sure that a case of Lode Lane fever will happen somewhere down the track. :D

All kids make stupid mistakes in cars. Thank god most of us survive the mistake but it is a bit of a lottery. My Aunty was killed when a teenager fell asleep at the wheel and drifted across the centre line. It wasn't just your family who won lotto with that one.
Good to hear they are unscathed but watch out for lingering pain. My brother-in-law thought he was fine after an accident and had actually fractured a bone. He just thought it was muscle pain from the impact and toughed it out. Two years later and he is still having problems due to lack of early treatment.

If you went with the insurance that the lease company wanted you to take it with it is just as well you weren't off road, as they may have not paid at all.:o
But they should cover the lease payment at least especially at 16 months.
We inisted with the D2 on choosing our own insurance (GIO) and had an agreed value. When I rolled it on a farm track they payed out no problems, got more than we could have sold it for, paid out the lease and had cash in hand.:D
When we told the lease company of the accident they immediately told us because it was not on a gazetted road we would not be covered and would have to pay.:twisted: Told them it was insured elsewhere and they thought you could not do that.
Always read the small print with leases. We have always got our own insurance and gone to our own dealer rather than the lease company one (and saved heaps, theirs couldn't even match the one we negotiated).:D

Thank goodness your son and his friend are OK. Pity about the D3 but it can be replaced.

I have known friends who fell asleep behind the wheel. There's was not a nice outcome.
Hope you can pay out the lease and not suffer any more than the worry about the kids after they rang home for that one.
As others have said,its only a car,they still make them.Great to hear all survived.All the more reason to get another one.

Agree with LandyAndy, if the D3 stood up that well, good reason to get another one if funds permit.
