    Unhappy D3 RIP

Well folks, after only recently discovering AULRO it seems I no longer have
    the need.

On the way back from Phillip Island last Saturday morning my son fell asleep
at the wheel and careered off into the trees at 100Kmh. He and his mate are
fine, though the D3 HSE TD6 did not fare too well taking out a couple of trees
and fenceposts before coming to rest.

Front is smashed in, concertina ('sp) bonnet, every LHS panel smashed in,
roof rippled, minor scratches and dents on the RHS. Both front air bags
    deployed.

I think only panel that escaped unscathed was the tail gate.

Now going through the pain of insurance. As it is 16 months old no
replacement will be coming, and as the car is leased the insurance payout
is likely to be less than what's owed on the vehicle.

For now it seems Land Rover will be but a fond memory. . .

Pity about the D3 mate but as the father of 3 sons I'm really glad the boys are OK.
    Cheers, Dale

Credit due to the solid construction of the Disco too. Its something you never want to have happen, but vehicles are replaceable, and kids are'nt.
Its one reason I stick to my County, as its hard to nod off.

Glad all are OK, shame about the D3 and your son let it get to the stage where he fell asleep. Very lucky they did not take someone else out. Big lesson for them I suppose.
I thought with a lease the insurance had to be kept at a level where it would pay the lease out?
As much as I love my kids, they would be paying any excess or difference to get a replacement.

Sorry to hear. You can replace the car. Not the boys.
I've been through the insurance thing in the past. Its a bit of a set back but will heal in time. The D3 did a great job protecting the boys. Glad they are OK Tony
