This was all done on deserted beaches, with the kids having complete control (for want of a better description) sitting solo in the drivers seat. Some may say not clever but my kids have only had minor scrapes in there cars. I started driving (steering) straped to a tractor seat at age 5

I think its great for kids to learn to drive or ride yound. Gives them confidence and a better respect for driving. Also makes sure they can drive properly before getting their license. Obvously in an area that is free from other people.

I learned to drive around the paddock whilst a kid. I bought my first car (I picked strawberries to get the money buy it) when I was 12. Dad supported me in that. I learned a lot about engines, etc. from that. I bought a motor scoooter when I was about the same age.

I started my son driving (on my employer's 4WD Kia Ceres) when he was 12. He bought his first bike when he was 12.
