No.

The apostrophe is correct in the normal use of "it's" in that sentence. However, Sleepy made a concerted effort to put errors into the text. Therefore, to be consistent, Sleepy should have left out the apostrophe.

Hence the admonition.

Diana, the number of spaces has been the subject of discussion elsewhere. :) I still subscribe to two spaces after a full stop but this forum software removes extraneous spaces (as does other forum software).

I think it's (oops!) better too Ron, but when we worked with a publisher for the book in the late 90s that was one thing they said had gone. It is now typographically correct to have one space after a full stop.

Yes, it changed in the late Eighties in a couple of style books I read at the time (including, I think, the Aust. Govt. style book).
