I'm not visiting RichardK! :o
Some years back Richard sent me some DVDs and I was supposed to reciprocate.
I even bought a DVD recorder (to copy the video tapes) but it subsequently failed (why are you not surprised?). I bought another one 'cos the service agent wouldn't honour the warranty as we couldn't find the receipt (we found the CC statement with the right date and amount, etc., but that wasn't acceptable).
The replacement doesn't work very well. I can't say it's failed but it doesn't work adequately - I can pretty much say that any recording I make won't work. I've given up and I stick to video tape - it's so much easier than recording to DVD. So Richard never got his DVDs and is unlikely to ever get them with my excellent equipment buying skills getting in the way.
I'm too embarrassed to show my face near him. :(
What? You feel that you blokes are in the best bit of Aussie? :p
I think I made a mistake back in '72 moving back from Carnarvon to Sydney. I should have waited and moved to Perth when the job moved there.
Oh, you mean you want to meet us?:eek:
I'd love to catch up with a few of you blokes, too. The last time I was over there, I did catch up and have dinner with BradTot.
We had a look at the map and will probably head north through Williams on our way back to Perth.
Hey Ron,
You will enjoy your trip. If you do happen to get down Esperance way give us a yell and you can put a face to one of the AULRO Esperance dipsticks.;)
Plenty to do in Perth for 3 weeks, so you probablly wont get down our way as it is another 8hrs drive. But if you do.
A good drive is down Pemberton-Walpole way, beautiful country and only 4hrs from Perth. A great place to stay out of Pemberton is Donnely Lakes Donnelly Lakes Chalets, Pemberton, Western Australia no tv, no radio and beautiful though a bit exy. We love the place. Last year for my SIL 40th we booked all the cabins and had one great party. Spa hopping from one cabin to the next.
Cheers
Craig
Elisabeth and I did the trip across the Nullabor in 1970 on the Trans-Australian train. I had been transferred from Ceduna to Carnarvon and we opted to go back to Pt Augusta and travel by train (the company was paying).
We were only 22 years old and we found the train was full of old farts in first class (where we were travelling). When we went on the Ghan last year we again found the train was full of old farts in first class.
Elisabeth says I'm not allowed to take my laptop. Flamin' heck, that means I'll never get any peace. (Maybe I'll take my PDA. ;) )
Blow!! I was going to ambush you, will have to put away the baseball bat:bat:
Actually I had forgotten until you mentioned it............never fear I'm a very forgiving person............sometimes :p:p I'll have to remember to keep up my medication :angel:
I must say I certainly would like to meet, all is forgiven
