    Disco 2 TD5 question

Hi I'm new around here and i like this forum a lot.
I'm a member from the Dutch Landrover owner club as well. Land Rover Club Holland

My name is Jeroen and i'm from holland.

Next year i'm coming to Australia for 3 months and i want to take my
Land Rover Discovery 2 from 2000, td5 with me.

I want to drive it from Adelaide till Cape York and want to do some tracks as well.

It's fitted with all terrain tyre's, two spares, TJM coils and springs, TJM T15 bumper and a winch.

Can it be done and what are the problems i can get?
And is it possible to get the most stuff when something brakes or something?
Are there many dealers around in that area?

    Hope to hear from ya.

    Thanks allready

    Jeroen

Dealers are only in major citys.
Parts you can get and there is a wealth ofknowledge on here for that.
The Landy can do it. Just make sure it's in good nick and you have the basic spares.
Look at the cccc threads for ideas.
they are in the trips section.

    Hello George,

    Thanks for your quick reaction.

    It's in a good condition.
There are BF Goodrich AT tyres on it, with the size 245/75/16.
    Is that a problem?

    thanks allready

The tyres will be fine. A little slippery potentially in some places, but you will be ok.

On recommendation I will make though, is if you want to tour Cape York and the deserts then I would fit a snorkel. This will keep the water out of your engine in the many deepwater crossings at the Cape, and some of the dust out in the outback.
    Cheers
    Slunnie

I am not 100% sure of this but I think one of the forum members works for a Land Rover Dealer in Alice Springs. Depending on what route you take you might go through Alice Springs so could be worth popping in to see him.

If you post your route in a thread I am sure people would be happy to point out where their preferred Land Rover mechanics are near your route, in case of trouble. Most people on this forum seem to avoid dealers.

Also what sort of time frame are you looking at? You never know there might be someone else on the forum going at the same time who could buddy up with you. The cape has two seasons (wet and dry) and the driving is much more difficult in the wet (Nov to April I think).
