YAY!
Great stuff Jock! Bet you're glad to have your beastie back?
Its all fixed![]()
After dropping it down to Justin Cooper, on Wednesday with a proposed bottom-end rebuild because of large amount of blow by. Things turned nasty
It was pulled apart, the head turned out to be cracked, one injector was seized into the head, from what it sounded like something solid had made its way through the turbo and the crank was rather worn![]()

and also the timing belt looked like it hadnt been changed since new (the motor had done 268k )
How it still went I have no idea
So luckily there just happened to be a 300 Tdi with 160 k on it being wrecked by Justin. Which had a good historyso that was dropped in.
We bought the car about 8000 ks ago if that and since I've had it its never been overheated to I cant have done the head, and oil has always been checked to cant have done the crank or pistons.
So I'm almost certain the fella who sold it to us did the dirty on me and dad![]()
But anyway these things happen ... an I guess it was my turn
But its all fixed
Many thanks to Justin Cooper and Paul Allan the two blokes that put it back on the road.
Be picking it up on Friday
Can't wait![]()
