Tarago? seriously there's not much out there that will seat seven comfortably apart from a people mover or a Disco 3. Do you want a four wheel drive seven seater?
Regards,
Tote
The love has gone for the Subaru and wife has decided she needs a vehicle with many seats. Three kids now, plus sister who doesn't drive with kid. New baby is only three weeks old and she's decide that there will be another.
So, seven seats and has to be under 2m.
Anybody know what's great?
Or good?
Or bearable?
She was talking about selling the Defender, too.
Oh, and no Discovery, she has this silly idea that we shouldn't put all our eggs in one basket.
Wash your mouths out, I'm not selling the Defender to get a Discovery.

Hopefully the 2m means height,not length !
Let's see you need 7 seats, comfort, inexpensive, well maintained...
I reckon a 1994 Range Rover LSE with a pair of jump seats fitted in the back would be ideal !
If only somebody was selling one........
oh wait, I am !
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

I know you said you didn't want a Discovery, but what 4x4 7 seater gives you 7 proper forward facing seats along with 7 proper 3 point seat belts? Most 4x4's only have a lap belt in the middle of the back and side facing extra seats.
That is the main reason I went for a TD5. I thought the seat belts were pretty safe for the kids. That's what I officially told the wife anyway![]()
The wife runs a Mitsubishi Delica which is ideal for carrying the kids around but unfortunately your 2.0m height restriction would be borderline. Most are 8 seaters, some are 7.
Older Pajero engine/running gear and Starwagon/express van for the rest. Majority are 2.8 turbo diesel although lots of V6's now being imported.
Too long for serious off-road driving but selectable 4WD, high/low and centre difflock.
Early models ('94)are quite cheap to buy but there are a few issues to watch out for. Servicing is straightforward but a PITA if you have an accident because some of the body panels are difficult to source in Australia (although there are a couple of guys that deal direct with Japan and parts are available if a bit exxy).

Mazda Cx9?
I personally think they're pretty ugly but I've driven the CX7 a bit and its quite a nice car.
