Inc,
Overall I have notices a slight improvement when using my normal browser.
Firefox 3 is annoying the hell out of me, so I have just installed Chrome - in which AULRO is noticeably slower, but OL is noticeably quicker...
Just to add to the confusion.
Thanks for your efforts
Cheers.
Dave.
Purring along like a Rover V8:D
Slowly:(
Not a good evening for speed this one.... The worst ive had it for a few weeks...
It's interesting Dave,
After you made the changes a few days back... things here sped up significantly. Last night however - awful - as slow as it has ever been.
Tonight is not really fast here.. but still better than before you made the changes.
Did the system have more load than normal last night?
Cheers, Mark
Nasty!
On the solaris boxes we have iowaits which was the first thing I looked for. That isn't shown but with that high cpu I guess it's not a problem.
Is there any ability to performance tune the DB? Is there any way of checking the basics such as indexes etc? Can you look for top/most expensive queries and check/rebuild indexes, or is that all pre-optimised? What sort of optimiser does it use? Is it a statistical system that would be benefited by an analyze?
I've not really used mysql but with Oracle I'd start by working through all the usual suspects.
