    wiring up spotties

I had a go at wiring up my new lightforce lights on the weekend with a mates help.I tapped into the highbeam wire on the back of the lights. The problem is when i just have the park lights switched on there is power getting to that light which i tapped into.Ive been told that disco's arent the same so what have i done wrong?Any help would be great.

    Cheers Mat.

    Hi,

Is this a Defender? If so have you wired them up through a relay? Otherwise you will most likely need a new head light switch very shortly.

Drivesafe on here does a kit to wire up spotties, with all the wires, relays etc.

With regard to the problem, Have you definetley wired it up to the main beam side?

    Rgds

Sorry, do you have a Disco and if so what is it ( D1 or D2 ) ?
And ..presuming of course you are using a relay and merely tappping off that wire to drive the relay, not the spotties directly.

Ooops ...PSimpson got in before me

Mystery as to why there's volts on your high beam wire when the parkers only are on. Sounds like an earthing issue. So if you connect all up do the spotties actually come on when the parkers are on ?
