The problem with a genuine bug is that the engine is in the back using up the space required for the turbofan. The re-bodied Golf version of the bug has the engine in the front.

A small jet engine would fit nicely into the tray of a LR ute and you could have it concealed, just drop the tailgate when you want to use it. No need for an afterburner, that's just showing off. I would be really interested in the legalities of it. As has been pointed out it's not connected to the wheels so if it's not turned on then what's the problem officer? ;)

Would be great off road for those times when you just can't get grip with the wheels. :D
