    Pvc pipe snorkel?

    Hi there
    I need a snorkel for my d1 and don't wan't to spend hundreds on a safari, so i thought i'd make a pvc one, has anyone got any pics,tips or tricks on making one??

    Yes.... DONT!

    PVC goes brittle in sunlight, and cracks easily when hit.

    Plus PVC snorkels look so "Ghetto"

    At least do it using Stainless if you dont want a moulded one.

    been thinking of doing this with my 'Fender. Stainless that is.....

    just wondering if o/d 80mm would be OK Tho?

    what about exhaust pipe, psimpson7 from memory got one made up, a search should pick up his thread

    As Tombie said, don't. I'd also add don't buy one of the el cheapo snorkel kits on the market as they are also a POS.

    That said you could use a 3" diameter black poly pipe as it is UV stabilised etc. Still going to look ugly as sin and be very heavy.

    I suspect if you hunt around you may be able to pick up snorkel for a 200Tdi Disco cheap (even a Safari). After all its now 16yo+ vehicle. Kind of thing that could come up on eBay in in a stock clearance. Also try Triumph Rover Spares for one off a wreck

    Looks like stainless or exhaust pipe is the go, i'll look into it some more.
