Two referenda were also held on daylight saving in WA, and twice a majority of the people voted against it. Now we have a three year "trial" of daylight saving (this year being the final year), to be followed by a third referendum on the subject. Which part of "NO" don't these politicians seem to understand ?

Personally, I have no real preference either way - but what gets right up my nose is the arrogance of these worthless jumped up d#%*heads who claim to be our representatives, who think that they can just ignore the clearly stated wishes of those who they claim to represent, and impose their own will anyway. Maybe that has a lot to do with why the last bunch of arrogant fools got thrown out in the recent election - hopefully those who remain might learn.

We could take our Aussie "saved-daylight" with us and get the jump on everyone else in Antarctica! They'd be frozen solid in winter and we'd be in boardies and Bali singlets, pumping oil out of the place like nobody's business and they wouldn't even know! Penguins might be a bit confused though...

Oh hang on, you don't think we'd make the ice melt and raise the sea level, do you?

and...I'd love to see daylight saving in Qld...but seeing as I won't be here for too much longer, when we move back to Australia we will have it anyway

At least up here no one has even attempted to raise it as an issue except once, many years ago it was suggested on the grounds that we should follow the southern states. That logic is guaranteed to get the idea scuttled real quick. Daylight saving means all the planes now get here an hour late from south.

Maybe if they give the pilots better sunglasses, it wont be so bright and they can see where they are going and then they wont be late...........
