I don't know what you people are on about...I'm confused.![]()
Ahh mate, I feel for you. I had to get rid of the X1/9 recently, after 26 yrs, and the boat, and the (now X) missus, cheered. Harrumph!
Q
Thanks for the support..... and bruises! LOL
First Impressions..... (comparing 94 300Tdi Manual to 91 4L Dual Fuel auto)
The Toyota has no personality.
The Toyota has no oil leaks
Power feels similar but of course Toy much heavier and an auto
CV's were a bitch to replace! (Knew they needed doing when purchased.... how come everyone say's they generally last 100K when Toys are so "unbreakable"! LOL)
Lots more room in the Toy, even with all the seats in use! (Woo hoo.. now have 8 seats!)
I want to hit the person who mounted the gas converter above the coil... right were it is a ***** to get to.
I like no timing belt or chain.
I don't like the 50 thousand hoses running everywhere!
What the hell is with the electric under bonnett heat extraction system???
So far I have confirmed my first thoughts... I like barn doors.
Ride is very similar although stiffer in the Toyota... you miss the body roll on roundabouts!
lots more room around the pedals!
60L (54 useable) Gas tanks are stupid on a big 4x4
Cost of running... Little more than the Disco, using around 25l gas per 100km around Adelaide. But considering the extra weight/size I don't think it is too bad... Of course if you want to race everyone and drive in soft sand that would no doubt get scary!
Has it put me off a landy in the future.... NO way!
By the way I have a bonnett release cable in the shed... will check if I have any other "bits" if anyone in Adeliade wants them they will be going for the price on 1x 600ml FU Ice Coffee Will post any other items soon.
