For intrest sake when I bought the 130 3.5 years ago diesel was under $1 a litre.
In Dec 04/Jan 05 I drove to Tassie and back. I went out of my way to avoid paying over $1 per litre for petrol however I had to in rural Victoria and all over Tassie.
I have noticed diesel selling for $1.45 in Brisbane for the last few weeks. Must be a huge relief for diesel drivers from the $1.89 highs around here.
Not wrong, I sold my D3 V8 at the beginning of the year for my D2 Diesel, one of the main premises being was saving on fuel by switching to diesel. What happens.....diesel goes through the roof. I was still better off but only slightly from a fuel and distance perspective as I average upto 800kms. Now I have a bigger smile...for now,Quote:

Be glad none of you live in Port Hedland!
Petrol today - $1.729/L
Diesel - $1.779/L
And this in the town where tankers full of the stuff dock four times a day...
The new United in Orange is supposed to get LPG either today or tomorrow. I am hoping that this will bring down the gas prices too.
The Lpg has been 79.9 for months at all the servos. The strange thing about this is the price in Bathurst And Dubbo (60 k's closer to Sydney and 150k's further) has always been atleast 8 c/L less than Orange so they can't blame extra cartage costs.
Looking forward to the extra competition and I will definately be buying at the united now if it drops the LPG price. Hopefully there isn't any difference in LPG quality over the different brands.
