44mm in the last 24 hours, and still raining, although not heavily. I plan to make a trip into town for fresh food today, will have a look at the creek first though. (not using the route through National Parks, but still have to cross the same creek further down).

Rain is getting heavier and it is set to get worse overnight

Steady rain here as well....and we have visitors from England coming tomorrow - if this weather continues, they will feel right at home

They'll be with us till Nov. 29 then heading back. Hope we can supply a bit of warm Aussie weather for them before they go back to the cold.

Hope you manage to get out and back again without any trouble.

It will be interesting to see if the Talbragar is running again, we might head out there in the next few days with our English visitors.

Last time they were here was exactly 4 years ago, and the river was bone dry - I have photos of us all walking along the dry sandy riverbed.

Maybe this time, they can see the opposite & can roll up their trousers & go paddling

Got to town and back without trouble - only 2mm while I was away. Bundalene - see River Height data for Talbragar R at Elong Elong

Not much water in the Talbragar at present, but given what has fallen already and what is forecast for this afternoon and tomorrow, there should be plenty in a couple of days.

the rain cloud has flowed east, however the are currently (midday Tues) very large electrical storms in the Bourke & Thargomindah localities (Country Energy StormTracker) which are heading southeast....

localities that cop these will have gullyrakers I think

Yes, I've been looking at them. Those particular ones will probably go north of here, but I would not be surprised if more developed south and SE of them later in the afternoon.

Thanks John, we have that data site on our "favourites" and check it often.

We've been watching the rainfall in the area north of you, and like you say, in a few days there may be plenty of water in the river.

Obviously, if the crossing is too deep, we won't be taking any chances, so we'll wait & see.

Looks like there's a fair bit more to come.Glad you managed to get your supplies in OK.

Well, they were supposed to be here at 11am - but at 0830 I got a phone call - they were not prepared to attempt to cross the creek, and could I meet them there, which I did. The troubleshooter they sent up claims to be seeking information, but was mainly interested in looking for property boundary marks, and was talking about getting in a surveyor. He made it clear that while NPWS has an obligation not to close the road, they are under no obligation to maintain it. Altogether, not a very satisfactory meeting.
