Yes, I had already observed the situation. The interesting thing will be on Friday, when National Parks is sending a bloke to discuss the problems I have with access due to their failure to maintain a creek crossing just outside my place. If the forecast is accurate, there is no way they will be able to get here!

I doubt it - they will probably just call it off if they have any sense. I am in discussions with the State Ombudsman on the subject, and this is perhaps more promising.

    Thanks for that link.
Will be flying a helicopter from Brisbane to Broken Hill on Tues, ending in Perth on Thurs. Looks like I might be getting a bit wet!

I hope both it and you are IFR rated - I expect the clouds to be sitting right on the ranges by now, and won't clear until about Thursday. West of the ranges should be helicopter room in the rain below the cloud, but I can't see it being much fun! And there will probably be a bunch of CBs embedded in the low cloud and rain, just to make life more interesting. Here we have had overcast all day and it has been getting lower and thicker as the night comes on - and is apparently worse to the north.

Well, it started about 0900, and rained steadily all day, easing off to drizzle just before dark, by which time there was just on 36mm in the gauge. More promised tomorrow, but looks as if the morning may start off fine. If it does, I will make a trip to town for fresh supplies.
