    single rear window.

    Hi all,
Has anyone ever tried or seen soneone who has fitted a single rear window to the rear of their defenders. I have a cargo barrier and drawers, so I dont see the need to keep the sliding windows. Should be better for security too right?

Keep the sliding windows. Removing the trim and frame to replace the window is a pain in the ****.

I was looking at doing the same thing untill i had a good look at the work involved. It looked like one of those jobs you wish you hadn't started. I replaced the old LR felt with some small Bailey channel from the Rubber shop in Brisbane. The stuff works a treat no more rattles I should have done this ages ago. The only problem now is that I can hear the kids and wife having a whinge because the AC needs regassing, before all the moaning was lost in the noise.

BrendanB just bought a Defender with a single rear window. The frame and inner window is still there, they just removed the outer sliding window and fitted a full length glass in it's place. Looks like a pretty easy job without removing the frame. Maybe he can post some pics for you.
