    California Bushfires - Pictures

I don't understand why this keeps happening there. We have bushfires in Sydney but rarely lose a home. Is it the skill of our firefighters, the clearning work done to prevent fires, or just that we have lower density housing?

Nasty stuff. Hope we get through Summer without too much drama.

On another note heard a rumour that a DC10 firefighter may be visiting us this Summer

Yes and combined with the American Pine that suround these areas, makes for a deadly combination, these two trees are the most flamable trees in the world.

The California Hills are very densely populated, much more so than here in Australia so fires invloving lots of houses are very common, add to that the amount of traffic that causes and no access for fire crews and that's how it happens.
