I'm cleaning out a relative's garage, she requested I "chuck everything in the skip, it's all junk", or to sell anything I thought might fetch more than a fiver. So I did a bit of price research.
I was AMAZED at what some people are paying for a lot of old wares.
I found seven Russell Hobbs K2 "vapour controlled" electric kettles (c1950-60). One is in near mint condition, works perfectly. I checked evilbay prices and the last one sold for over $100. For christ sake its a 50 year old kettle, scaled to buggery!
A small-ish golden fleece tin. I've been offered $70
A Ransomes cylinder mower
A James motorcycle - around 1949/50/51, GC. No idea how much it would be worth
No way are these going in a skip!!!

Just found an homogenous James for sale
I think I'd be wise to drive around now, keep watch all night, and call the insurance co. first thing.
Sounds a little like when we moved here, what with sorting things out, my wife decided that she should have her jewellery (inherited) insured. Got it valued - and found that we could not afford to insure it. So we bought a safe. (It is no longer here, so stop sniffing round!)
