Fer Gawd's Sake, you two. Add the other bloke to your ignore list before I add you both to mine (if I could - as a Mod, I can't!).
We (I'm talking as general member, not a Mod) are sick of the two of you sniping at each other.
:p:pYes its a nice ute, But its a useless ute in my mind, I would rather have a two door sports car and I have never been a fan of them either, a ute is for carrying stuff and dogs they love them. An old girl friend brought a bug eyed Austin Healey, she could fit two people and a small dog in it, the boot was just bigger enough to hold her hand bag. About as useful as that ute most likely two people and a dog, Or could you carry a dog in it ??? the ute that is
Yes I am showing my age here I am 62 and I find it interesting to read the comments etc from you younger generation blokes when the older generation start comparing the older vehicles to the modern ones of today
When all you younger ones are my age you will be comparing what you grew up with as to whats available in another 20-30 years, remember us oldies were the road testers for todays standards Its nice to drive a new vehicle no matter what it is But I enjoy getting behind the wheel of vehicles that I grew up with vehicles of the late 40s etc to many of us oldies they still hold a lot of charisma .

While the utes are nice eye candy, that is about all they are they are no longer functional as a ute. If I needed a ute I would be looking for an old HQ-WB Holden and do up. There is a nice Sandman ute and a 2 Sandman PV's in Esperance still used by tradies and a nice FX ute still used. The new generation utes are just sports versions with no real use, nice but I would rather 5 seats with a simialr look, but each to their own and its what seems to be the rage at the momment in both Holden and Ford. Lots of them around here because of farmers kids. My main point is why have a ute if you are not going to use it as one. Great for carting the dirt bike but thats about it.
The VE is OK but not a great car, its a step back in design for Holden. It may have more wizz bang and power, but has no character, like the VT does. While I am Holden through and through the XR6 Turbo is the cream of the crop at the moment (not the standard Falcoon or XR8 or XR6 standard). Very nearly bought one, then saw sense and bout a WK Stato instead.
