    Downunder fridges

    Hi Guys,

Work is looking to buy some portable fridges - 12v / 240.... and they are looking at a 35 Lt model made by a crowd called Downunder.

Has anyone had any experience with them?

I know the general answer will be "buy Engel or Waeco"... but that's not an option - so just looking for real world experience with Downunder if anyone can help.

Or advice on other good budget models. ( sub $500)

    Cheers, Mark

Friend of mine has one and it seems to work fine. It does draw a bit more power than the Waeco/Engel but as long as it's not being used for long periods without running the motor it should be fine. I don't think they've been around long enough to judge longevity though unlike the big 2.

    Mine is still going fine.
It has even survive not being strapped down in the back and being thrown around with all the other gear in there.

ARB will be selling their own fridge shortly. Not a rebadged Engel as they have had. An ARB designed in house. Not sure of the price range yet. Might be worth checking out.
