well, I was going to wait a bit longer before passing judgement, but, initial thoughts.
1) Noisier than original street tyres, but not an issue, SWMBO did not even notice.
2) Grip, no rain yet, and no off road, but on road, great, no issue at all. The tread looks like it should do the job as well as any AT.
3) Tyre rating on tyre
Traction - A
Tread wear - 660
Temp - B
4) Cost - $465 per tyre. That is for 255/60/18
Very happy so far.

18's are expensive. I had 18's on my previous vehicle as well so I am used to the over the top priceing. Just to put it all in perspective, to replace the original Wrangler all weathers, same kind of money for an inferior tyre, (in my opinion) or could have got the General Grabber AT2's for about $20 less per tyre.

Remind me again; what is the advantage of 18'' rims over 16"?
As far as I can see, all it means is that with the lower profile tyre that tends to be fitted, the rims are more prone to damage and the tyres cost two and a half times as much.
I think I'll stick with the 16" rims that Land Rover saw fit to put on My Defender.:p
16s wont fit over the brake calipers on a D3, so 17s or 18s unless its a V8 when 18s or bigger.Quote:

Maximum pressure acording to the tyre reading is 51 PSI. I assume that is cold tyre pressure.
Thanks for the info. I thought that this size with XL spec was probably made with the D3 in mind. There are other brands with similar load ratings but with only a low max pressure thus making them unsuitable for a loaded D3.Quote:

Nedlands Tyre Service here in Perth got onto Tyres4U who are the wholesalers. Only him and Barbagallo's are Conti distributors but Barbagallos couldnt get in contact with them. Bredan I think it is at Nedlands rang the rep and got him to go down and organise them so they could be picked up.
Nedlands gave me a price for the above of $275 each. Best price I could get the same size BFG's was $320!!
And according to a number of tyre shops, BFG's are not what they were a few years ago. Seems they are made in various plants under licence now, not in the BF factory as they used to be.
