I went to Barbagallos Continental tyre shop. Anthony (Tony) bigest dick i have ever met and he's the manager. So full of **** i could smell it on his breathe. I would never buy any tires from that place no to mention the service is woeful! :eek:Quote:

My apols. My posts are on the previous page. I have the continentals, but they are able to be purchased in Vic from lots of different places. Paid $48 for insurance against punctures as i do a bit of off road stuff. hope I don't have to claim:D
Update on the Conti's.
Have had them on the RRC for a bit over a year now and everything going good apart from a small bugbear with stones. They have a tendency to pickup and keep them in resulting in an annoying "tap tap tap tap" as your driving on bitumen.
Otherwise, excellent wear after about 30,000 k's, still look like new. Wet roads are a dream, washes across the road hardly even raise a stir at speed.
Contemplating another set for the D2 now as I cant really see anything i like.

I've got the HT version of that tyre on the L322 and they are going very well,a bloke I work with has the AT on his cruiser and hasn't got a bad word to say about them.If I still have my defender when the maxxis wear out I'm fitting conti's on it also,all over good tyre. Pat
Just drove Burnie to Queenstown, roads damp, mixed road, high speed corners, low speedcorners, bumps mid corner, the lot. Had a ball.
Contis have got 30000 on them, handled the road like a dream. Was catching sedans in the big clunker, and it was effortless. Only caught by one guy who was flying, and he obviously knew the road. I enjoyed following him for a while until I got slapped by SWMBO :D Wasn't even pushing it. I should add that I generally run these tyres at 36psi, 40 for sustained higher speeds.
I am hard on my tyres, so I am guessing I am about half way through, if I actually slowed down for corners, reckon they would be less used!!!! Only observation is that they have got a bit more noisy as they have warn, but not significant. Used for around town with the kids, freeway, country, offroad, great tyre.
I am still very happy with these tyres, and when they wear out, will get them again. Great off road, no issues except for one puncture, where I knew I was going too fast in sharp rock territory. Absolutely my fault. Have not had an issue since.
They remain a recomended tyre by me to friends who like going off road.

I read a report on an indian site that said that they were poor in the wet. Obviously it's hard to judge with diferrences in road quality etc.
How have you found them in the wet?

I believe that potentially, and this is very odd, they may have got better as they got a bit of wear in them. If this is not the case, potentially I am now better at keeping the pressures up, or maybe I am just used to them. I did used to question the wet road performanace against what comes standard (wrangler all weather)but after driving my mates stock d3, decided that I was happy with the wet weather performance.
