Continental Cross Contact AT - Any thoughts?

Great price I reckon DiscoSaffa[thumbsupbig]

Drove from Queenstown to Hobart today, and it was really pouring down. Again, lots of fun, the only time I felt the abs kick in and my foot was already coming off the brake by then, was a downhill, off camber corner doing 85, when I should have been doing 50-60. I braked quite hard to take a bit of pace off, and just felt it start to object. Believe it would have been no different with the all weathers that came with the D3.

So, heavy rain, no one caught me, caught lots of sedans (and others - maybe they just drive slowly in Tasmania?) can definately answer, no probs in the wet. With the spray going up behind me, (left half of my rear mudflaps behind in the sand a while back) was cutting through the puddles easy as pie, so water displacement/aquaplanning, just not an issue.

Trust this is helpful.

I just had CrossContact AT's fitted to the Cayenne. A very quiet tyre (although the Cayenne is incredibly well sound insulated). In fact they're even quieter thean the 4x4Contacts that came with the car, although I think that says more about the 4x4Contacts than the AT's.

Thanks to rmp too! (I tried to edit my post but there was no 'edit' button:confused:)

Ok, done about 200km on these tyres now, including highway (110kp and a bit faster when passing road trains:whistling:), gravel roads, sand tracks, rough caprock and clay tracks.

So far they've proven to be a very good tyre. Good grip for an AT in all conditions. And very resistant to puncture (as I haven't had any!).

Depending upon the mileage I get, I'd buy another set.

Done near enough 1500km on mine now and loving the tyre, have found them surprisingly good in the (very) wet on the road, in fact in all conditions. Unlike you Jamo, they are noisier than what I replaced, but a none issue. One minor annoyance though, and I have mentioned this elswhere, but the tread picks up and hangs onto small stones. Aside from the annoying sound it makes, they start to throw them at high speed (never drive close behind a grey D3 in the Northern Riveres area of NSW :o). Hopefully as they wear a little and the tread is not so deep this will stop.......

My post should have read 2000km, not 200.

I also should have mentioned fuel consumption...... I can't recall (or find) what thread I had mentioned it in, but my initial impression was that the contis were using more fuel...... with a few more kms under the belt, it would seem I was wrong..... if anything they are using less....... :)

I've not noticed any change in fuel consumption.:)
