    Dob in a bad driver

    Wife showed me this site.
Still have to have a good look at it.
I will start using it, plenty of D*^& Heads on the Road.

Home - Rate the PLATE Australia

Rate the PLATE is Australia's only National community based road and traffic surveillance system.

Too easy to just dob people in if you don't like them or just because they've upset you.

Look at the top poster. He must have nothing else to do.

A friend of mine was dobbed in for supposedly doing a "wheelie" in an awd base 2300cc Audi - just not possible. He was given a formal warning on the basis of this complaint and told it would be taken into account in considering his next traffic offence. It was accepted that because he was dobbed in, the incident happened despite my friends denials.

My friend said that it was unacceptable that this should be on his record and asked that he be actually charged with the offence so it could be considered by a magistrate - that option is not available and there is no appeal process so the warning stays on his record.

So if you don't like someone - this is the way to get back at them.

the whole thing is stupid, someone could be walking down the road and see a nice car in someone's driveway (a kickass Landy) and think 'hmm i wish i had one of those, ah ha ill report him for throwing a bottle out of his window'...
2 days later that driver gets fined for throwing a glass bottle out his window.

My mum got fined for throwing a cigarette out her window while driving but she doesn't smoke in the car, anyone driving behind her could of though that she was driving too slow or any other reason so they just say she threw a cigarette butt out the window (which if someone actually did throw a cigarette butt out the window it would be too small to even see it while moving.

Anyone can report anyone for nothing and then they can get fined.

    Andy.

Not true. It is possible to see them.

BTW, have you been hit in the face by a hot ciggie butt? I have when riding.

A while ago (bout a year) me and a mate were riding dirtbikes at a local empty paddock and i was riding being tom on my quad and we were just entering the paddock so we were going slow and he flicked his cigarette butt up into the air to the right and the wind blew it the opposite way and it went straight down the front of my shirt. and i had my shirt tucked into my jeans to stop mud getting in and so the smoke butt went down my shirt and stopped at my waist,I immediately jump off the quad (while being in gear it kept going, lucky it wasn't a 2-wheeler) I jump around for a bit trying to remove the butt, i pulled my shirt up which caused the butt to break up before i manged to remove it. I then noticed my quad was about 60meters away and still moving and my mate hadn't even realized that i wasn't on it (as he was in front and could hear my machine behind him) I just started running to catch up then did one of those jumps onto the seat (like the wild west movies were they jump onto their horse from behind) my ass landed on the seat and my feet on the pegs and I just twisted the throttle and kept riding like nothing happened.

Sorry got a bit off track there, back to the topic at hand.

An old friend of mine throws his cigarette butts out of his car but he doesn't flick them, when he drives he has a smoke in his right hand hanging out the window and when hes done with it he just drops it to the ground.
But anyway thats not really what this is about, but you can report anyone for anything, which sucks heaps.

    Cheers!
    Andy.

What a pile of **** that site is...

Top poster rates speeders... So obviously he's got a calibrated speed device.... NOT...

I'd say that drivers consistently logging plates etc would be more of a hazard than the ones they are 'tagging'

I can see them clearly and especially if its dark! I have dobbed in a few (to the epa line). I hate that Grrrrrr.

And I'm a smoker! Haven't they got a frekin ashtray.

It all ends up in the waterways, they don't dissolve, they polute the environment and cause fires.

    <<<bit off a rant.... sorry couldn't resist.....now back to the hooning>>>
