Thread: Rainfall

Brisbane has had the second wettest November on record. 1981 was the wettest. Hard to believe that four months ago we were, to quote the legendary Hanrahan "crying out for rain". Now it is "we'll all be rooned if this here rain don't stop". Storms forecast for four nights from Wednesday.

As Doreathea Mackella wrote, we live in a land "Of droughts and flooding rains"

Tamworth/Gunnedah area certainly copped it over the last few days.
I just hope all the farmers got their harvesting completed before the deluge.

The Peel River at Tamworth peaked at almost 6m and the Namoi at Gunnedah is still just under 8m.

Thanks for that post John. We were chatting to Garry W last Monday and he said virtually the same thing. The land looks pretty good out at Elong, compared to previous years. Don't think we have seen it so green in late November for quite a while.
Might even have to mow the grass next time we go out there

It will be interesting to see if the Talbragar rises a bit after all the rain up in the Liverpool Ranges.


Our heart goes out to the folks around Tamworth and Gunnedah.
