    Planetary alignment

No, not in an auto gearbox ...

If you have a non-cloudy sky today (Monday) at sunset and looking west, you will see one of the most unusual close alignments of the plants Venus, Jupiter and the moon that you will ever see....

between sunset and about 10pm (EDST) you will see a smiley face with the planets forming the "eyes" and the partial moon forming the smile under them

    regards - Laurie

    Thanks Laurie .
I saw the two planets close to each other last night. I knew one was Venus but I didn't know which planet the other one was.

Kat needs a tripod! Think I just got the hint for her Christmas present. But here is the best we could do using long exposure but hand held....

Top "star" well, planet, is Venus. Lower planet is Jupiter.
