Sigh........you know I've just returned from some BS course about Harrassment, Bullying, Yadda yaddaa blah......... and they say swearing passes the "reasonable test" in society now and is deemed acceptable, so long as your nor calling someone that name

But anyway, I'll still call people names when they deserve it..............and sometimes when they don't

Then of course there is swearing, beyond reason, but even some of those folks are great characters. You'll here more language on an AULRO outing than you would on here.....I think credit where credit is due that even before the filter, people hardly swore and if someone went overboard....it was dealt with.

What I find funny....is that you can say FFS, WTF, Quote:

...........or who can't tell what the swear words are even if replaced with stars....its still telling the same old story. Bit like if the other half was shagging someone on the side...does not seeing it make it any less worse than knowing about it ?? ( P.S. thats not a real life analogy....**** I hope not ).

I know the main reason behind the not swearing is not due to it being offensive but to maintain a G rated site for sponsors/ advertisers, which is well and good.....but hasnt this thread now just turned into a swearathon...even if the words are "pixilated"...better off leaving it alone as the swearing is low content on here anyway,

I think this word is still offensive and should aslo be picked up by the swear filter IMHO
Obviously different connotations as the word **** or to get ****ted is part of the british vernacular. However did a search on the word and it has always meant The word **** has various meanings, dependent upon regional dialect. Although its main meaning in British English is usually that of 'idiot' or 'stupid/idiotic/tasteless' (male person)" but there is also another word that it is used as well, though I dont see i quite in the same context as the "c" word. Mainly because you hear the **** word quite regularly on british tv/ programs etc.

the word **** in british films is mainly used in certain stereotipical films such as lock stock, and other various usually violent british films......

where I come from in the uk it is used a lot but it is in replacement of the 'c' word both of which words I find offensive.

but like you say depending on its context my brother will say it if he talking about someone doping something stupid....but if he is talking about someone in an agressive manor which he does do...he is using it as a replacement.

"Sticks and stones, may break my bones, but names will never hurt me"

Really is it worth getting upset about it?

I dont think anyone is getting upset rovercare i think you will find that people are just discussing....

I personally try not to get upset when certain words are used but it doesn't stop me getting offended sometimes.

    That's what I was discussing

It was a question, directed moreso at yourself, is it worth getting upset/offended about the word ****? so long as its not directed AT you?
