Love the stuff, drink it like it's coming out of the tap!
Bushmills 12 yo for something to be "appreciated"
If you drink any Whiskey with Coke, (or anything else, excluding ice), you might as well throw a handful of grated turds and an umbrella in the glass as well
It didnt sit in a barrel for years and come across the sea, to share a glass with some black "draino"![]()
I spoke to an employee of JW a while back. He said that their Blue is very very good but it is very very overpriced. They set the price to be a presentation bottle for the Japanese market. They wanted a whisky ultra expensive to honour the recipient.
I really enjoy a JW green - not too exxy but a step up from Black - also pure malt.
Here is my current collection. I'm not a connosieur but I am an anal collecting type.
Loving the Macallan...
i found this perty timber box in the rubbish last week.....my wish didnt come true thou!!!! it was empty!!

I used to hate Scotch Whisky as a young man. I love it now. I agree anything except a wee drop of water in it is sacrilege if it's a single malt.
My favourites are :
The Glendronach - These come in a variety of flavours depending on what casks they were stored in for 12 + years. The sherry flavoured one is very nice.
Laphroig - very distinctive smoky flavour of the peat. Made on Isle of Islay.
Chivas Regal is a good every day Scotch. It's a blend but a blend of single malts. It was originally made to enable whisky afficianados to get the same taste each year. The blender ensures this. The taste of each single malt naturally varies from year to year based on the weather, quality of the ingredients etc.
Aberlour Abunadh - my personal favourite bar none. A fantastic 60 proof Scotch that needs careful handling and drinking. Nectar.![]()
My family all know what I want for Xmas.
Regards
Martin
I have not had Green or Gold before and I'm often told a real scotch drinker doesn't drink blends but pfff.... to that.
Are green and gold good to drink straight up with no no ice or soda? Blue is so smooth I never bothered with any thing in it. But it's a bit expensive to ahve on a regular basis.
Black label is a good drop if you want a more regular drinking scotch . very smooth for what it is and costs.
