Ah well here in Darwin it is free for up to a single axle trailer or a ute up to one tomme for a rate payer. No limits on the number of visits a year. There are 3 dumping areas, one for recycling, general and garden refuse which is mulched and sold back to you.
On the cleanup well I have seen one of our northern neighbours stop her car in the middle of the area and unload her rubbish there while every one had to drive around her. There was room but she couldnt back the car to unload the boot.

The tip is still free here in Gympie - as many times per year as you like, only trucks have to pay (and its not much).

Charging tip fees only seems to encourage the low life to dump in the bush reserves.

Have to agree with that. Since the prices at Lucas Hts tip went up (by a ridiculous amount) the increase in roadside dumping has been incredible.

AND people wonder why the price goes up.

Gotta pay some one to clean up after PIGS.
